Still doing well with the cleanse overall. Wednesday's 'challenge' was to get up and move (aka exercise). Unfortunately, I did something to the crook of my elbow - lifted something or moved my arm the wrong way - and I didn't think it would be wise to exacerbate it by getting too physical. Plus, I think the soreness in my arm gave me a headache and all I wanted to do was veg in front of the telly.
Yesterday's activity was to list ten things I am thankful for. That was easy! The hard part was stopping!
I also managed to set my 'intention' and start journaling.
As far as the water goes, I managed to get my 64 oz. on Wednesday, but only 24 oz. yesterday. I find that if I don't get the first half down before breakfast like you're supposed to, chances are I won't reach the 64 oz. total.
Not making too many recipes from the book. The 'Simply Millet' was bland the first time around, though I did find the leftovers more palatable. The 'Vegetable Medley Stir fry' was overcooked, and again didn't have a lot of flavour. I tried my first green smoothie yesterday, the 'Blueberry Blast', and didn't find it overly yummy. I'm going to mix it with a fruit smoothie today. Yes, I know it already seems to be a fruit smoothie with the word 'blueberry' in the title, but there's also kale in there, and I think it was largely the texture I didn't like; plus, it was too watery.
The best recipes have been the 'Simple Breakfast Porridge' made from brown rice, the raw trail mix and raw brownies.
I have lost 2.6 pounds since Transition Day 1, and haven't really had any cravings. When I've felt hungry, I've typically had a piece of fruit, some raw carrots, or some of the trail mix.
Tomorrow is Day 5, then I head into Purification Weekend, which I'm glad to see is optional (just in case). On Purification Weekends, you're supposed to take it easy in terms of activity, and only intake fruits and vegetables (raw or lightly steamed), and beneficial beverages (smoothies and juices made from raw fruits/vegetables), plus the lemon water. In other words, no grains or meats (not that I'm eating meat anyway). Nuts are allowed sparingly.
We shall see.
P.S. D has pretty much given up on the cleanse as of yesterday. He would call it 'modified'. He's eating more fruits and veggies, avoiding caffeine, and reducing sugar.
